I'm choosing quality over quantity. Why would I have to put out new artwork every other day? That is UNREALISTIC!! Quality art takes quality time. Sorry, not sorry.
Crappy art that's done in an hour doesn't make it feel impactful. It feels empty, void of wonder. What's the point of putting in only an hour or two of work into the art? Good quality artwork usually takes time, and when so much time is spent on it, it usually looks packed with so much character.
A general rule of thumb in how long it takes to do good artwork is about three hours or longer. A really nice piece usually takes about 15 hours or more. Sometimes it would even take 50 hours.
No one will ever understand that a nice artwork usually take a long time to finish, especially in this day and age where technology finishes whatever you want done in a blink of an eye. No one is going to care about how hard you had to work on your piece. Only you need to push yourself to make your vision happen, no one else is going to do it for you. You are your own boss.
Unfortunately, there is no shortcut in a nice art piece. You'd have to go all the way, and the reward in that is your completed artwork. It's like playing a video game by yourself, and you want to beat it, so you play this game for hours until you finally beat the final boss. After you beat the game, you have this feeling of success. The feeling of pride. It's the same thing with art, only different is that you get to frame your success. This is something that YOU would hang up on your wall. If you love how it looks and that you spent a lot of hours on it, then that is a very good art. Your completed artwork that you worked so hard on is your true trophy.
